Pan Wali Gujhiya is a type of Gujhiya that is flavored with pan masala, a mixture of various herbs and spices that is often consumed as a mouth freshener after meals. Here’s a recipe for Pan Wali Gujhiya:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp chopped cashews and raisins
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp pan masala
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, ghee, milk, and salt. Mix well to form a stiff dough.
- In another bowl, mix together the grated coconut, powdered sugar, chopped cashews and raisins, fennel seeds, and pan masala.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a small circle.
- Place a tablespoon of the coconut mixture in the center of the circle.
- Fold the circle over to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and fry the gujhiyas until they are golden brown.
- Drain the gujhiyas on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Mava gujhiya
- Mawa Gujhiya: This type of Gujhiya is made with mawa (also known as khoya), which is a type of milk solids. Here’s a recipe for Mawa Gujhiya:
Ingredients:

- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup mawa (khoya)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
