Ingredients:
For the Koftas:
- 200g paneer, crumbled
- 1/2 cup boiled potatoes, mashed
- 2 tablespoons corn flour
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Oil for deep frying
For the Gravy:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
- 3-4 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- To prepare the koftas, mix the crumbled paneer, mashed potatoes, corn flour, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder in a bowl until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape them into round balls.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the koftas and fry until they turn golden brown. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
- To prepare the gravy, heat the butter in a pan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and sauté for a minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix well and cook until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool down. Once it cools, blend it into a smooth puree using a blender or food processor.
- Pour the puree back into the pan and place it over medium heat. Add the fresh cream, garam masala powder and honey. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Once the gravy thickens and comes to a boil, add the fried koftas and mix gently. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
